Eastside Interfaith Hunger Initiative Thanksgiving Service - Tuesday, November 24, 2009 7:00 pm
Hosted by: Cumberland First Baptist Church; Reception sponsored by: Earth House/ Lockerbie UMC
Diverse religious congregations from across the city of Indianapolis held five Interfaith Thanksgiving Services, coming together to address hunger. All were invited to participate in the eastside inter-faith service centered upon gratitude: a common experience, expression and response. "We're excited that this year we have expanded the interfaith Thanksgiving services so that they fan across the city," says Dave Miner, Executive Director of IHI. "Hunger touches every corner of our community and world, and these services reflect the spread of this movement and our determination to come together -- no matter how far apart we may physically be -- to feed bodies and souls." All of our faith traditions call us to feed the hungry. Through the Interfaith Hunger Initiative, congregations come together to do much more as partners than they can alone.
www.interfaithhungerinitiative.org  Everyone was invited to attend, regardless of religious affiliation. In addition to an offering for IHI, food donations for Community Outreach Ministry Eastside will also be accepted.
