Staff at Cumberland First Baptist Church
T.Wyatt Watkins is a graduate of Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis and holds a degree in violin performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. An author, storyteller, and classical and folk musician, Wyatt brings a broad palette of creative and spiritual expression to the ministry of Sunday morning. Through vehicles ranging from sermon-in-dialogue, to poetry reading and discussion, to “Mostly Music Sundays,” worship is routinely enhanced by the arts.
As a champion of our call to care for the Earth, Wyatt offers leadership at Cumberland, the eastside of Indianapolis, and statewide through Hoosier Interfaith Power & Light to the task of combatting climate change.
As a founder of Cumberland Arts, Inc., Wyatt is its congregational liaison and entertainment chair for its annual arts festival. He is a charter member of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and performs fiddle in two Irish bands, one with congregational accompanist and harpist Jan Clark.
Wyatt is married to Donna Watkins, a neonatal nurse practitioner and is the proud father of four adult children.
Kevin was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. He completed his undergraduate degree at Greenville College BA Religion/Philosophy (Greenville IL). While completing his graduate degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary MA Christian Education (Louisville KY) and Indiana University MS Elementary Education (Indianapolis IN) he also served as Director of Youth and Drama with his home congregation.
In March 1989, he accepted the call to serve as Minister of Christian Education at Cumberland First Baptist Church. Over the years of ministry, he has continued to put into practice his passion for faith exploration and education with all ages. Kevin and his spouse Dan enjoy traveling, baseball games (having been to 20 of the 30 MLB parks so far), cooking, and theater.
